Constantly evolving and getting bigger by the day, social media is a huge component in today’s world. Most people nowadays are going straight to their cell phones or computers when they are ready to buy/sell. What does that mean for you as an agent? Brand yourself on social media!

Tips:

  1. Know your options
    1. There are many social media outlets- but only use what is best for you and your demographics. Many agents use: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
    2. In our opinion: Facebook and Instagram can provide the most work for you. (See below for Facebook and Instagram tips)

  2. The purpose
    1. LEADS- Using social media can literally put money in your pocket. The more people that see you on social media, the more they are going to reach out to you when they need your service. Make your face / work memorable. Show them what you do, and how well you do it.

  3. Facebook
    1. Facebook has sprung tremendously since it started in 2004. With your listings posted to facebook it will help you sell. Want to hit more people and target a specific audience? Facebook lets you target your ads / posts to certain demographics. You can choose where it goes, with analytics to show you what is happening along the way.
      1. Use bright, high-quality images / videos to receive more engagement
      2. You cannot have more than 20% text on your image for a facebook ad
      3. Ads that run 5-7 days typically work best. This gives you that period to evaluate if they are working to your liking.

  4. Instagram
    1. Instagram is a photo and video sharing social network that started in 2010. Sprung in popularity over the past few years, many people are taking a go for it. If you reach 10,000 followers, Instagram unlocks different features. You will be able to ‘swipe up’ in stories which lets you link to your listings, websites, social accounts etc. Until you get to that point, make sure you are posting engaging photos and videos. What attracts the eye? Show your homes, things happening in the community, local engagement.
      1. Know your audience
      2. Use bright, high-quality images / videos  to receive more engagement
      3. Be authentic with yourself and your brand
