Fellsmere

Fellsmere is respected by its residents for being a city with a vision for its future and a respect for its past. Fellsmere is noted as the first city south of the Mason-Dixon Line to allow women to vote. It is home of the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival, which boasts the Guinness Book of Records distinction for the largest frog leg festival in the world. Its population varies from approximately 5,000 to 8,000 during the winter harvest season. Fellsmere is a predominantly rural community within close proximity to services and shopping offered on a larger scale in both Vero Beach and Sebastian.

Families living in Fellsmere are served by one public elementary and 3 private early learning schools. High school age students generally attend school at one of the public or private schools in either Sebastian or Vero Beach. Fellsmere is also within a reasonable driving distance to the Mueller Campus of Indian River State College in Vero Beach as well as the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.
