Good Afternoon! It’s almost August and the new school year is upon us. I know you are ALL working your sphere of influence (but if you’re NOT you do need to call me because you are seriously missing out), so here is another monthly marketing plan for you…
- Email your sphere links for the school calendars, school supplies, open house orientation schedule, etc. Or, you can mail them out. I have attached the orientation/open house schedule for IRC as well as the instructional calendar. The St. Ed’s calendar is also attached. - Now although us parents are shouting at the rooftops about how happy we are that the kids are going back to school, perhaps our district’s amazing teachers are less than enthused about hitting the books again. Why not start their year off right with a Pizza/Hoagie Party that first Friday the kids are back in school? If you don’t have kids, call any school. I’m sure they’d be thrilled to accept your offer. Of course you will need to market the heck out of this on social media before the event, when you drop off the lunch, and then post follow up photos. You can win bonus points if you go to your schools website and print out the list of teachers and administrative staff and send them all an email or hand-written note thanking them for the opportunity to bring in lunch, you hope they enjoyed it, and BY THE WAY you’re in REAL ESTATE! One and done’s rarely ever work, so try and do this 3 times a year – at the beginning, mid-year mark, and end of school. You need to become their go to, and that means you will need to commit yourself.
- I’ve seen some local RE offices collecting school supplies. This is also a great way to give back. Make sure to capitalize on this by marketing yourself on Social Media. If you are doing good, just to do good – that is fabulous. I’m all for it. However, EVERYTHING is an opportunity to grow your business by building new relationships and more importantly TRUST. So all of these little things you do, turn into building trust with your social media audience.
- School Advertising – if you are really making a go at becoming THE realtor at one of our area schools, find out what is available early in the school year – sports sponsorships, signs in the car pick-up line, etc.
If the school things really isn’t your jam, why not do some similar marketing with Football Season.

If you are a true football fan, you could make this a whole marketing strategy on Social Media for the entire football season. Videos of you with your jersey on Football Sunday. Team Merchandise or Fan Apparel giveaway. Favorite recipes for the game. Fan Photo Contests. Competitive Polls, etc. Just make sure that you are collecting EVERY lead that interacts with your FB strategy – and putting them into some sort of sales follow up plan. Most importantly BE CONSISTENT!!!

August 10th – National Smore’s Day (drop off smore’s kits to people In your SOI with kids)
August 15th – Relaxation Day (perhaps take this day for yourself – relax and recharge)
August 21st – Senior Citizens Day (local specials, content marketing, drop off goodies at The Brennity or other types of locations around town)
August 30th – College Colors Day (photo contest on Social Media)
