Main Street Vero Beach, in conjunction with the Vero Beach Centennial, will be presenting its first Night of Nations on June 28, 2019 along 14th Avenue (Main Street) from 5-9 pm.
A Night of Nations features foods, culture, dance and music, informational booths. There will be vendors representing different parts of the world, along with a children’s activities tent, and other fun activities.
The goal of Night of Nations is to bring awareness and appreciation for our international heritage and global family with a deeper sense of connection, mutual respect and shared purpose.
We want to make it a fun night with something for people of all ages, and are seeking food vendors, street performers, dancers, musicians, people with a knowledge of cultural arts and crafts – and anyone with a thirst for knowledge to partake in interactive activities and local and international food items. We encourage visitors to dress in their native garb and show their ethnic spirit.
We are planning a Parade of Nations with flags and costumes from various countries. In addition to demonstrations of native or regional dance, we are looking into offering on-the-spot dance lessons for the crowd, tea tasting in the activities tent, and demos of “international acoustics” on stage.
The international food tastings will be done with prepaid “tastings passports”, with prizes awarded based on customer voting for categories such as “Tastiest Food,” “Most Attractive Presentation,” “Best Decorated Booth,” and prizes for parade participants.
